Posted: Thursday, July 19, 2001

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- The body of a teen from the village of Nondalton was recovered from a lake near the village, Alaska State Troopers said.

Clarence Harried, 16, disappeared Saturday afternoon when the boat he was in capsized in Six Mile Lake. Volunteer searchers and employees of Lake Clark National Park found Harried's body Tuesday afternoon after dragging the lake.

Troopers said Harried was not wearing a life jacket when the boat capsized.

Another teen who was in the boat at the time, 16-year-old Gabe Trefim of Nondalton, was rescued by his father soon after the boat capsized. Trefim was treated at a local clinic for mild hypothermia.
