Clothing ministry to open Saturday

The New 2 U clothing ministry sponsored by First Baptist Church Soldotna will be open from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at 159 Binkley St. in Soldotna. Also there will be the Direct Line 2 God prayer ministry.

AAJC flea market planned

The Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ Church will hold a flea market July 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the former C and R auto lot in Soldotna, across from Sal's Diner. The market will feature games, crafts, gifts, a bake sale and an information session.

Russian-American Festival slated

The St. Innocent Orthodox Christian Cathedral in Anchorage will hold its third annual Russian-American Festival Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Aug. 4 from noon to 4 p.m.

The event is to showcase the uniqueness of Russian, Alaska and Orthodox traditions and how they intertwine.

Activities include singers, dancers, films, a Native Youth Olympics demonstration, Russian poetry, children's games, a puppet show and church tours.

Ethnic foods also will be available.

Church to offer space camp

Vacation Bible school at Sterling Baptist Church will hold Space Station 2002 Aug. 5-9 from 9 a.m. to noon. Children ages 4 to 12 are invited to attend.
