Archer-Benner, Olson marry in Soldotna

Katie Idalia Archer-Benner and Casey Scott Olson of Soldotna were married Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna.

The bride is the daughter of Ted Archer of Soldotna and Panama and Rosa and Ken Brake of Pensacola, Fla. She is the directress of the Learning Tree Montessori Pre-School. Carmen Triana, mutual friend of the couple, served as maid of honor. Triana introduced the couple in December 2007. Bridesmaids included the bride's sister, Kathy, and nieces, Kayla and Becca. The bride's daughter, Lia, was the flower girl.

The groom is the son of Brian and Laurie Olson of Soldotna and is employed as a computer technician with the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District. The groom's father, Brian Olson, served as the best man and groomsmen were friends, Rob McAlpine and David Henson. The bride's son, Levi, was the ring bearer.

The bride's children, participated in the ceremony where the couple made promises to them, as well as to each other.

A reception followed at the Soldotna Sports Center where guests enjoyed a champagne toast and dancing. Mary See created a two-tiered wedding cake and cupcake towers in the bride's colors of ivory and berry red. Dana Cannava coordinated the refreshments, including sandwiches and vegetable trays.

The couple traveled to Homer for a mini-honeymoon and then they and Lia and Levi traveled to Pensacola, Fla., in February. The bride's mother and stepfather, Rosa and Ken Brake, hosted a reception for the new family. Several family members and friends from the southeast United States attended.

The couple also made a trip to New Orleans and stayed in the Degas House and took a dinner cruise on the Natchez.
