JUNEAU (AP) A cruise-ship passenger was charged with sexually assaulting another passenger on a cruise.

Guillermo Orozco, 28, of Mexico, was arraignment Thursday before Juneau District Judge Peter Froehlich on a felony charge of first-degree sexual assault.

Froehlich ordered Orozco to be held in the Lemon Creek Correctional Center in lieu of a $100,000 cash bond, at the request of Assistant District Attorney Doug Gardner.

Gardner noted that Orozco has no ties to the community, and the case remains under investigation with several other charges possible.

Orozco was arrested in Skagway and transported to Juneau by state troopers, according to trooper spokesman Greg Wilkinson.

Orozco, who had been a passenger on the Royal Caribbean's Vision of the Seas, is accused of sexually assaulting a 22-year-old woman from El Paso, Texas, while the cruise was 15 miles out of Glacier Bay, he reported.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Friday.
