Social Security reps to visit peninsula
The Social Security Administration makes monthly visits to the peninsula at the following times: first Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kenai City Hall; third Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Homer Senior Citizens Center; and the third Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Seward City Hall.

Rodeo set to ride
The fifth in the series of the Peninsula Cowboy Roundup Rodeos will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Soldotna arena. Team roping, bull riding, junior bull riding, calf riding, barrel racing and pole bending are some of the planned events. A free calf scramble for children also is planned. Class of 1977 to reunite
The Kenai Central High School class of 1977 will hold its 30-year reunion from 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska in Kenai. The cost is $30 per person. For more information, call Kathy Kenner at 398-9319.
Swim lessons make a splash
Swim lessons are offered at the following pools:
* Soldotna High School Swim sessions will be 10 days of lessons, for 40 minutes. Lessons are open for children ages 3 and older. Lessons will be held: Monday-Aug. 3. For more information, call 262-7419. The cost is $40 for swim lessons set.
* Nikiski pool Swimming lessons will be held: Tuesday- Aug. 2. For more information, call 776-8800.
* Skyview pool Eight to 10 days of swim lessons for 45 minutes. Lessons will be held: Monday - Aug. 3. Swim activities for adult and children with special needs also are offered.
Health Day slated
The MediCenter is starting a Preventative Health Program by offering a Preventative Health Day on Wednesday at the Nikiski MediCenter at 43783 of the Kenai Spur Highway.
Free information and services includes bone density scan, blood pressure test, blood sugar test, body mass index, sleep study information and nutrition information. Wellness panel lab work discount also will be offered. For more information, call 283-9118.
Seniors plan summer bazaar
The Soldotna Senior Citizens Center will hold its annual summer bazaar, bake sale and quilt show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 27 and 28 at the center. Crafts and baked goods will be available. The center also will hold its endowment trust fund barbecue from noon to 3 p.m. July 28. Barbecue, live music, a motorcycle display and wool spinning exhibit are some of the planned events.
