VBS ready to leave the station

Grace Lutheran Church and School will host a free GOD'S Vacation Bible School Train from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 30 through Aug. 3 at the church at on Ciechanski Road, one block off Kalifornsky Beach Road.

Team sports, crafts, singing and a picnic lunch are some of the planned activities.

Light House shines way to VBS

The Light House Community Church will hold Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 6 through 10 at the church located at Mile 25 of the Kenai Spur Highway.

The theme will be Jungle Jaunt. Children ages 4 through grade six may attend. For more information, call 776-8234.

Grief support offered

The Soldotna United Methodist Church holds a "Life Love Loss" support group from noon to 1 p.m. on the first and third Monday of the month at the church at 158 S. Binkley St.

Any type of loss is open for discussion in the group. Attendees are asked to bring a brown bag lunch. For more information, call the Rev. Richard Whetsell at 262-4657.

Church conference continues

The Soldotna Church of God's destiny conference continues at 9 and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. through Sunday at the church on the corner of Binkley and Redoubt streets.

Speakers from Alaska and the Lower 48 will talk. David Bishop will be the morning speaker. A concert will be held today. For more information on the conference and baby sitting, call 262-4729.

Clothes Quarters open

The Clothes Quarters is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays at 225 South Spruce Street in the back of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Kenai. The store sells clothes and free trade coffee.

Sporting men wanted

The Alaska Christian Sportsman Retreat will be held Aug. 24 through 25 at Solid Rock Camp in Sterling. Paintball, riflery, archery, trap shooting and sportsman auction are some of the planned activities.
