FAIRBANKS (AP) -- Jackson State will fill the void left when Auburn University dropped out of the 2000 Top of the World Classic here.

Jackson State finished with 17 wins and 16 losses last season and was 10-8 in Southwest Conference play. That gave them the conference title and a berth in the NCAA tournament.

The Tigers join Austin Peay, Colorado, Davidson, Santa Clara, South Florida, Utah State and host University of Alaska Fairbanks at the tournament, which is scheduled to be played Nov. 16 through Nov. 19 at the Carlson Center.
