ANCHORAGE (AP) -- An Anchorage man was hospitalized after he was accidentally shot by his 3-year-old son, police said Friday.
Dan Rush, 32, was shot late Thursday night in his South Anchorage home. He was being treated at Providence Alaska Medical Center, but police said his injuries do not appear life threatening.
Rush told police he was looking for something in his gun safe after leaving a loaded gun on a counter behind him. That's when his son came into the room, picked up the gun and pulled the trigger.
The bullet struck Rush on the left side of his torso, police said.
