ANCHORAGE (AP) A 27-year-old Girdwood man was rescued from a Mount Alyeska cliff after getting stranded.

Dan Roberto was attempting to climb a 600-foot cliff on Center Ridge on Saturday when he became stuck, Alaska State Troopers said.

Alyeska Security attempted to rescue Roberto, but called troopers at about 7 p.m. for help.

The Alaska Mountain Rescue Group dispatched a rescue helicopter and it landed on the mountain above Roberto.

The rescue group used ropes and slings to get Roberto off the face of the cliff, troopers said.

Roberto was taken off the mountain at about 10:30 p.m. He was not injured.
