Summer landscaping awards

Bobbie and Arnold Oskolkoff's home on Birch Avenue was selected as Kenai's Garden of the Week. The yard has a plethora of flowers, shrubs and vegetables, with a mock orange flanking the back yard. The Garden of the Week contest is sponsored by the city of Kenai's Parks and Recreation Department.

Columbia Paint on the Kenai Spur Highway was selected as the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce's Beautiful Business of the Week. Lana Barns planted and tended the property, which hosts a mountain landscape mural and overflowing planters. Soldotna B&B Lodge also received an honorable mention.
