Friday, July 25

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Arts and crafts bazaar, quilt show, antique display and bake sale. Soldotna Senior Center, 197 W. Park. Quilt winners show, antique displays, arts, crafts, jewelry, breads, jams, cakes, jellies and pies (limited menu also available). Call 262-2322 for more information.

Noon to 4 p.m.: Free wildlife films. Kenai National Wildlife Refuge on Ski Hill Road. Call 262-7021 for more information.

Flightseeing trips: Natron Air is offering 15-minute flightseeing trips over Soldotna for $50. Call 262-8440 for trip information.

Saturday, July 26

9 a.m.: Parade lineup on Aspen Street. You must have a parade application to participate; it is free. Call the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce at 262-9814 for more information.

11 a.m.: Parade starts. Parade goes down Aspen to Marydale, then follows Binkley, before turning onto W. Wilson, ending on Warehouse. Judging will take place as the parade passes the reviewing stand in front of the Borough Building. Ribbons will be awarded to parade winners at 1:30 p.m.

12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Live entertainment, food, vendors and fun on West Park Avenue. Entertainment will include "Top Cover" from Elmendorf Air Force Base, kids' games, Progress Days' Car Show and People's Choice Contest, and more.

Noon to 2 p.m.: Central Emergency Services Open House (after the parade). Come and meet the CES staff. Free cookies and juice. Bring the kids to check out the new emergency vehicles. Two ambulances, an engine, a tanker and a fire rescue boat will be on display. There will be a free raffle for rides in the ladder truck. Call CES at 262-4792 for more information.

Noon to 4 p.m.: Soldotna Area Senior Center Endowment Fund barbecue at the senior center197 W. Park Ave. Proceeds benefit the seniors' programs. Call 262-2322 for more information.

1:30 to 3 p.m.: Bridges Children's Spectacular on West Park Avenue sponsored by Bridges Community Resource Network Inc. and hosted by the Soldotna Boys and Girls Club. There will be a coin search, races, contests and prizes. Call Bridges at 260-3800 for more information.

1:30 to 5:30 p.m.: Annual used book sale at Soldotna Public Library. Pick up a free book coupon at the library. Call 262-4227 for more information.

Beginning at 2 p.m.: Family Rodeo Fun Day at the Soldotna rodeo grounds on Kalifornsky Beach Road. Fun activities and events. Call the Soldotna Equestrian Association (Rhonda) at 262-7006 or Vicki at 260-6982.

2 to 4 p.m.: VFW Progress Days barbecue, open house and big screen TV raffle at the VFW on Birch Street. Live music. Tickets for the TV are pre-sold, so contact the VFW before the event if you would like a ticket for the raffle. Call Sue at 262-2722 for more information.

Sunday, July 27

Noon to 5 p.m.: Soldotna Creek Celebration Eighth Annual City of Soldotna Picnic. Hosted by the city of Soldotna and the Kenai Watershed Forum. Free hot dogs and sodas. "Top Cover" from Elmendorf, live music, fun, games, local arts and crafts, Progress Days Car Show People's Choice Awards.
