Kenai man injured after hitting truck into are bar

A Kenai man was flown to Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage early Monday morning after reportedly crashing his vehicle into a parked pickup, which was pushed into the Rainbow Bar.

Perry Nicholas, 50, of Kenai, was in stable condition Tuesday, a hospital spokesperson said.

Police were called to the bar at 3:12 a.m. by a motorist who said his unoccupied 1998 Chevy pickup had been hit by a 1984 Chevy S-10, which pushed the pickup into the building.

Nicholas, who was unconscious, was taken by medics to Central Peninsula General Hospital and later medivaced to Anchorage.

Kenai police said alcohol appears to have been a factor in the accident, and their investigation is continuing.
