ANCHORAGE (AP) About 150 members of the Alaska Air National Guard's 176th Wing will be deployed to Ramstein Air Base in Germany this summer, beginning Tuesday.
Guard officials said 70 people will depart Tuesday in C-130 planes to participate in Operation Joint Forge, a NATO mission in Bosnia.
Additional crews will leave each Tuesday until Aug. 11, with participants expected to return at the end of August. Participants will be deployed from two to six weeks, officials said.
The Guard's 144th Airlift Squadron, a unit within the 176th Wing, will provide airlift and logistical support in the mission.
