Kenai resident Thomas William Pearcy died Saturday, July 19, 2003, due to an extended illness at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna. He was 63.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Soldotna. Mr. Robert Gepner will officiate.
Mr. Pearcy was born Sept. 22, 1939, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to Thomas William Pearcy Sr. and Helen P. Pearcy. He was raised and attended high school in Coeur d'Alene. He moved to Anchorage in 1964 and began his career as a heavy equipment operator.
He worked throughout the states of Alaska, Idaho and California. In 1975, he moved to Kodiak, where he lived for three years before moving to Soldotna in 1978. He retired from the Operating Engineers, Local 302 in 2001. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
"Tom was a wonderful husband, great father and loved his family very much. He was a hard worker, was very fun loving and had a great sense of humor. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed being in the woods," his family said.
Mr. Pearcy was preceded in death by his father, Thomas W. "T.W." Pearcy Sr. and by his grandparents.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Roberta C. Pearcy of Kenai; sons, Tom R. Webster of California, and Kenny H. Pearcy, Douglas T. Pearcy and Justin T. Pearcy, all of Kenai; daughter and son in-law, Tammie and Nathan Evans of Peters Creek, Alaska; daughter, Misty L. Pearcy of Kenai; brother, Doyne J. "D.J." Pearcy of Coeur d'Alene; brother and sister in-law, Dann R. and Cindy Pearcy of Dalton Gardens, Idaho; sister and brother in-law, Marie E. and James Edinger of Coeur d'Alene; mother, Helen P. Pearcy of Coeur d' Alene; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Thomas W. Pearcy to 36300 Ravenwood St., Kenai, AK 99611.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
