Former Kenai resident Edward LeRoy French Jr. died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, in Thornton, Colo. He was 61.
Services were held July 12 at Grace Baptist Church in Commerce City, Colo. He was cremated.
Mr. French was born Dec. 19, 1940, in Denver. He worked as a truck driver and was an officer with the Thornton Police Department. He was married to Delores Rusch.
Mr. French was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was an avid outdoorsman and fisher.
"He was a loving Christian man who will be missed so very much by his surviving family," his family said.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward L. Sr. and Dorothy L. French, and his daughter, Pam Saunders.
Mr. French is survived by his wife of 37 years, Delores French of Commerce City; sons and daughters-in-law, J.R. Stout of Pennsylvania, Roy and Bonnie Stout of Westminster, Colo., Robbie and Pam Stout of Adams County, Colo., Edward III and Kathy French of Kenai, Chuck and Pam Williams of Aurora, Colo., and David and Sue French of Commerce City; daughters and son-in-law, Tammy Shorter of Adams County and Debbie and Miguel Romero of Longmont, Colo.; brothers, Larry L. French of Aurora, Marty French of Anaheim, Calif., and Michael French of Hesperia, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
