Boedeker to speak at chamber

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will meet today at noon at the Riverside House. Tom Boedeker, city manager for Soldotna, will speak.

Kenai skate park moves

The Kenai Recreation Skate Park is now at the Kenai Recreation Center, 227 Caviar St. in Kenai. The park is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For more information, call Kenai Parks and Recreation at 283-3855.

Class reunion planned

The Soldotna High School Class of 1992 will have its 10-year reunion Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Girls' basketball camp planned

The Boys and Girls Club is sponsoring a Gym Rats Girls Basketball Camp with Molly Tuter for incoming third- through 12th-grade girls Aug. 1, 2 and 3 at Kenai Middle School. For more information, call 283-2682.

Races scheduled for Sterling community

There will be a 5-kilometer walk held in conjunction with Sterling Community Day Aug. 3. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and the race will start at 11 a.m. at the Sterling community log cabin on the corner of the Sterling Highway and Swanson River Road. The walk is open to all ages and prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places for age groups. The entry fee is $10 and any profit will go toward improving the Sterling community property.

There also will be a bike race at 2 p.m. for youth ages 2 to 15. A helmet is required, and there is an entry fee of $5.

CPGH plans Safe Sitter classes

Central Peninsula General Hospital will hold the last Safe Sitter class of the summer Aug. 12 and 13. The class is for boys and girls ages 11 to 13. There is a $50 fee for course materials. For more information or to register, call Michelle at 262-8172.
