Community race slated

The All But the Red Run at Tsalteshi Trails will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Skyview High School. Registration begins at 5 p.m.

The distance is approximately 5k. The fee is $5 a person. Membership in the Tsalteshi Trails Association is not required. For more information, call Laura at 398-0774.

Seniors plan events

Soldotna Senior Citizens Center will host a bazaar, bake sale and quilt show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the center. There will be a selection of crafts, baked goods and quilts. Lunch will be available.

The center's Endowment Trust Funds' will host a chili cook-off from 1 to 3:30 p.m. July 25 at the center. To participate or for more information, call 262-2322.

Disc golf tourney slated

A disc golf tournament will be held Aug. 1 at the disc golf course behind Oilers Field in Kenai to raise funds for Camp Mend A Heart, a bereavement camp for youth, sponsored by Hospice of the Central Peninsula.

Hospice is seeking community members to sponsor or co-sponser a hole, sponsor a team, be a team player or volunteer for tasks for the tournament.

The day camp is free to local children ages 6 to 12 years old and is set for Aug. 17, 18, 19. For more information regarding camp or the disc golf tournament, call 262-0453.

Immunizations available

The Kenai Public Health Center at 630 Barnacle Way, Kenai, provides walk-in immunization services from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Thursdays at the Soldotna Cottonwood Clinic.

Parents are reminded that they need to have their children's second varicella (chicken pox) vaccination before school starts or students will not be admitted. For more information call 335-3400.

Carnival, spaghetti feed set

A fundraiser to help pay for medical cost for Grayson McCaughey, 14, will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Lighthouse Community Church in Nikiski.

Auctions, raffles, pace painting, bounce house, pony rides, cotton candy, snow cones, 30 foot slide, paint ball and dinner are some of the planned activities.

Race volunteers needed

Volunteers are needed for The LeeShore Center's 22nd annual Kenai Peninsula Run for Women slated for Aug. 8.

Water table staff, lunch servers and race route safety positions are needed. Flaggers will need to take a short safety course at the Kenai Police Department a few days before the run. For more information, call 283-9479.
