Soldotna Boys & Girls Club appreciates grant

Posted: Friday, July 23, 2010

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula wishes to thank The Kenai Peninsula Foundation Fund of The Alaska Community Foundation (ACF) for their $500 grant in support of the Soldotna Club's Power Hour homework program. This is the second year the Club has received $500 in support of our after school program. It is gratifying to know that the Kenai Peninsula Foundation appreciates the importance of this program and its impact on our youth.

Power Hour is a nationally recognized program developed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to provide club members with the support, resources and guidance necessary to complete their homework and start each school day with confidence. The program is free to all club members and provides a structured time and place for club staff to help members with this important aspect of the educational process.

The Kenai Peninsula Foundation Fund is a fund of the Alaska Community Foundation (ACF), a statewide nonprofit offering a range of charitable funds allowing donors to advance a cause, support an individual organization, or provide flexible support for community needs. Since 1996, ACF has helped people connect with causes they care about, now and for generations to come. The Foundation receives gifts from thousands of generous individuals and families, and awarded grants of more than $6 million to a broad range of nonprofit organizations in the past year.
