Resource planner to speak at Soldotna chamber

John Czamezki, a resource planner for the Kenai River Center, will speak today at the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce meeting. The luncheon starts at noon at the Riverside House in Soldotna.

Music class planned for kids

The Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula announces sign-ups for a music and movement class for boys and girls ages 3 to 5. The class will meet Mondays and Wednesdays between 11 a.m. and noon. The cost is $46, plus a $10 club membership fee for the 12-week class. Class size is limited to 10 participants. For more information, call 283-2682.

Splash Bash scheduled in HomerP>

Cook Inlet Keeper's fourth annual Splash Bash for members and volunteers is at 6 p.m. today at the Homer Elks Lodge at the intersection of Ohlson Lane and Bunnell Avenue. David Lynn Grimes will discuss the possibility of a Prince William Soundkeeper.

Book signing in the works

Carol Sturgulewski, co-author of "Chicken Soup for the Gardeners' Soul," will hold a book signing at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m.

Homer High grads plan 10-year reunion

The Homer High School class of 1991 reunion will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The 10-year reunion includes a steak dinner at the American Legion on Friday, a barbecue picnic at the Karen Horniday Park on Saturday and the KBBI Concert on the Lawn on Sunday. Soldotna book sale to be held Saturday

The Soldotna Public Library will host its annual book sale Saturday as part of Soldotna's Progress Days celebration. It is scheduled from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Blood drive scheduled for Saturday in Homer

The Blood Bank of Alaska Kenai Peninsula Center is holding a blood drive Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 215 W. Jenny Lane in Homer.

Assistance needed to plan reunion

A reunion for the 1971 graduating class of Kenai Central High School is planned for Aug. 10 and 11. Organizers need help planning and collecting addresses and memorabilia. For more information, call Joan Isaac Corr at 262-9681.

Beautification nominations still accepted

Nominations are being accepted by the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce and Booths Landscaping for the Soldotna Beautification award. There will be four categories, and winners will be judged the third week of August. Nominations are due Aug. 10 and must include the nominee's name, phone number and location or address.
