CAREER NOTES: Won the 2001 NASCAR Busch Series championship and the Winston Cup Series rookie-of-the-year award ... Won the Winston West championship in 1998 and was rookie of the year in the Featherlite Southwest Series in 1995 ... Won seven national and two Grand National championships in go-karts

PERSONAL HIGHLIGHTS: Was forced to sit out this year's race at Martinsville, Va., after wrecking another driver in the truck series race despite being warned by NASCAR to avoid trouble ... Was hired to replace Dale Earnhardt, who was killed during the 2001 Daytona 500. A week later, Harvick got married in Las Vegas; a week after that ,he won his first race, the Cracker Barrel 500 at Atlanta ... His favorite television show is The Drew Carey Show.
