Posted: Friday, July 25, 2008

Nikiski resident Erica Jo Olson died Friday, July 18, 2008, at her home. She was 1.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Erica was born Jan. 10, 2007, to Joey and Sonja Olson in Soldotna. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Church in Kenai.

"Erica was a ray of light that would brighten up any room. She loved her baby dolls and would tuck them in bed with her at her nap time. She loved to dance to the Mattress Ranch song over and over again. No matter what kind of day you were having, she could make it all go away from her presence. She loved playing outside with her brother and sisters. She touched the lives of everyone she met and we all long for the day when we can see her again, Acts 24:15 '... and I have hope towards God, which hope these men themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous,'" her family said.

Erica is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, James and Lula Mae Snow; and uncle, Jim Olson.

Erica is survived by her parents of Nikiski; sisters, Alyssa Trent and Jessica Trent of Nikiski; brother, Jason Trent of Nikiski; grandparents, Doug and Bonnie Olson of Nikiski and Scott and Sherry Terrell of Mathis, Texas; great-grandparents, Jean Olson of Kenai and Jack and Jo Terrell of Mathis, Texas; aunts and uncles, Jeff and Michelle Olson and Jerry and Becky Olson, all of Kenai, Jason and Heather Schnider of Anchorage, Eric and Audra Schnider of Soldotna, Jack and Christy Terrell of Texas, Ron Finch of Kenai, Kiven Olson of Anaconda, Mont., and Jason Olson of Nikiski; and many more family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in memory of Erica to the Alaska USA bank using the account No. 1403280.

Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
