Birding walk planned for Kenai River

The Kenai Watershed Forum presents birding on the Kenai River with Ken Marlow today at 7 p.m. Meet at Morgan's Landing State Park headquarters overflow parking to the left of the entrance.

The parking fee will be waved for the walk. To register, call 260-5449.

Festivities scheduled at senior center

The Soldotna Senior Center's summer bazaar will be Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. along with a Progress Days barbecue in the parking lot Saturday.

Registration to be accepted for CPR class

The American Red Cross is accepting registration for a community first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation class Saturday. The cost is $58.

Health clinics planned in Homer

The public health nurse will be in Ninilchik Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and back-to-school immunization clinics will be held at the Homer Health Center in August. The clinic will be open Aug. 13 and 14 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. and the week of the 20th during the same hours. Clinics will continue throughout the month on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. For more information, call 235-8857.

Swimming session to be held

The Soldotna High School swimming pool is holding lessons beginning July 30.

Classes are held Monday through Friday. Sessions are $40 for 10 lessons.

Booth space available

Free booth space is available for Industry Appreciation Day Aug. 25 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Kenai Park Strip. No retail sales are permitted.
