Chambers set schedules

· The Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon Wednesday at the Anchor River Inn.

Business tax tips available

A free tax tips for small business seminar will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Kenai River Center on Funny River Road in Soldotna. Jill and Howard Musin will lead the seminar. For more information, call 262-5359, 283-9598 or 252-9680.

Youth cooking classes offered

Pint Size Workshop cooking classes are held at 10 a.m. Saturdays at Allen and Petersen Cooking and Appliance Center in Kenai. Admission is two cans of food or a $2 donation to the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank.

A parent must remain in the store during the 30-minute workshops.

Food manager course offered

A food manager course will be offered at 7 a.m. Sept. 1 at the Ninilchik Senior Citizens Center. The Alaska DEC required course will be taught by JAF Food Safety and Consulting ( The course costs $150 per student plus a portion of the instructor's travel expense.
