On June 27 more than 80 women participated in the Pink Ribbon Rally at Birch Ridge Golf Course to join the fight against breast cancer. These enthusiastic golfers played through the rain to support women on the Kenai Peninsula who cannot afford the cost of annual screenings or who will find themselves on the journey from diagnosis through treatment to recovery this year.
On behalf of the many local residents who will be helped, the Central Peninsula Health Foundation would like to thank the hundreds of individual donors and corporate sponsors who gave so generously to this event.
We offer our deepest gratitude to Pink Ribbon Rally Committee Chair Judy Keck-Walsh and committee members Elaine Anderson, Peggy Bowen, Sharon Keating, Melanie Lewis, June Stuckey and Barb Winkler and volunteers Linda Cussack, Bill Engberg, Steve Horn, Dave Keating, Josh Kerkvliet, Jim and Cheryllaine McWilliams, Bri Pearson, Sharen Sleater, Alyson Stogsdill, Brandi Urban, Tom Walsh, Mary Whalen, Brittany Winkler, Myrna and Pat Cowan and Carolyn Schaefer.
The caring and compassion you demonstrated by supporting this event acts as a special reminder of how Kenai Peninsula residents pull together to help each other and just how lucky we are to live in this great community.
