Thanks to community, cabins repaired

Posted: Monday, July 26, 2010

On behalf of the Kenai Historical Society, Mary and I wish to express our appreciation to our community in helping to repair the five Kenai historic log cabins, moving them to the new site in Old Town and in providing period furnishings.

Almost all of the businesses, organizations and individuals we contacted willingly helped us with money, materials, services and/or physical labor. Specifically, we want to thank Kenai Mayor Pat Porter and Joe Harris of the Unocal Retirees Association for their help in completing the project. This project could not have been done without their assistance.

We also want to thank committee members June Harris, Carol Anderson, Evelyn Boulette and Sharon Fisher in their ongoing efforts to obtain furnishings for the cabins and getting them ready for public visitation.

We are glad we made our home in such a wonderful community.

George and Mary Ford; Kenai
