Palin is key to future economy

Posted: Thursday, July 27, 2006

As an Alaska resident and student, I am very pleased Sarah Palin is running for governor. After earning my masters-law degrees, I will return to Alaska, hopefully find a job and buy a home for my wife and children.

However, many actions of the last four years make returning a little unsettling. The current administration has taken steps that will have long-lasting negative impacts on both senior citizens and young and growing families.

Sarah believes all Alaskans deserve good opportunities (jobs!) with fair wages and decent retirement. She understands that in order to be able to stay in Alaska for the long term, we must be competitive with other states and to retire here we must have enough to live on in our later years.

We, as a state, are rich in resources and people. Sarah’s not your typical politician; she has management experience which will bring a great deal of experience to the table. Her work as mayor and chairman of the Alaska Municipal League gives her even more depth and a knowledge of Alaska needs statewide.

Sarah is the one candidate that stands out among the rest. Sarah will be a strong, independent voice for all of us. We need a positive change to lead Alaska responsibly, and Sarah is just that person.
