JUNEAU (AP) -- A Juneau man found unconscious in a circling boat died Wednesday.

Three young Juneau men spotted a 32-foot boat going in hard circles Wednesday evening off Admiralty Island.

Jumping aboard, they found Douglas Carter, 53, collapsed and unconscious, with his head on the floor of the cabin.

''It looked like he had a heart attack and fell over from the kitchen area out onto the floor of the cabin. His legs were kind of crumpled,'' Derek Rader, 21, said Thursday. ''We had to jump aboard.''

Attempts to revive Carter failed. His wife, Carol, said he had no history of heart problems.

No foul play was suspected, said Alaska State Trooper spokesman Greg Wilkinson, and the state medical examiner declined to perform an autopsy.
