ANCHORAGE (AP) -- An Anchorage man was charged with felony driving while intoxicated after he was stopped Thursday in a car suspected of being stolen.
Stacy Lee Gamble, 39, also was charged with vehicle theft and driving with a suspended license. He was arrested in Cooper Landing on the Sterling Highway.
Alaska State Troopers said Gamble was spotted driving a 1991 Buick sedan south on the Seward and Sterling highways and that the car had been reported by the Anchorage Police Department as stolen.
He was pulled over at Mile 48 Sterling Highway.
Troopers said Gamble was found to have a driver's license suspended until 2009 for various offenses including driving while intoxicated and two DWI convictions in the past two years.
A breath test indicated Gamble had a blood alcohol content three times above the .08 percent level at which a driver is presumed drunk, troopers said.
Gamble was lodged in the Seward jail.
