Football referee association to meet

The Kenai Peninsula Football Officials Association will meet Monday at 6 p.m. at Lambe, Tuter, Wagner and Moore in Soldotna. Anyone interested in officiating high school football this season is welcome. For more information, call Randy at 262-7293.

Volleyball camp scheduled

Winning with Christ Sports Camp will host a week long volleyball camp at Soldotna Bible Chapel Monday through Aug. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The camp will teach fundamentals. Registration will be Monday at 9 a.m. Applications are available in the foyer at Soldotna Bible Chapel. For more information, call Rob Dimick at 262-5095.

WRCC to hold board meeting

The Kenai-Soldotna Women's Resource and Crisis Center will hold its monthly board meeting Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the WRCC building, located at 325 Spruce St. in Kenai. For more information, call 283-9479.

Deadline for annual classic coming up

The deadline to purchase tickets for the Sterling Seniors annual Kenai River Sockeye Salmon Count Classic is Wednesday. The person to guess the closest number to the actual number of sockeyes to cross the Alaska Department of Fish and Game counter as of noon Aug. 7 will receive 75 percent of the prize money. The next closest will get 15 percent and the next closet will get 10 percent. Prizes will be awarded Aug. 24. For more information, call 262-6808.

Builders plan picnic

The Kenai Peninsula Builders Association will hold a member appreciation picnic Saturday at 2 p.m. at Soldotna Creek Park. Food will be provided. All members and their families are invited to attend. For more information, call 283-8071.

KWF sponsors cabin program

The Kenai Watershed Forum, as part of its free summer program schedule, will offer a tour of the Victor Holm Cabin in Kasilof on Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon.

The cabin was built in 1890 by Victor Holm, an immigrant from Finland, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. For more information or to register, call 260-5449.

Alaska SPCA offering spay/neuter clinic

The Alaska SPCA has a limited number of appointments available for the August low-cost spay/neuter clinic, to be held Aug. 7 through 9. Pet vaccinations are also available without appointments from Aug. 5 through 8 from noon until 4 p.m. For more information, call Nancy Wall at 262-1624.
