Hero of the Week

In May of this year, I was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident. I spent three weeks in the hospital.

One day, I awoke to find my insurance agent, Leslie Braunburger with AFLAC (you know, the company with the duck in the commercial), and his wife standing in my room. They had driven to Anchorage to visit me in the hospital and to pray with me.

Les was concerned enough and cared enough to take time from his schedule and his wife's schedule to visit a client. I knew that day I was not a policy number but an actual human being.

Leslie Braunburger is the example that all insurance agents should aspire to be. Thank you, Les!

My wife and I also would like to thank all the folks in the Kenai-Soldotna area who blessed us after the May 20 accident.

We were overwhelmed by the support of the community and our friends. So many reached out to help in this trying time and pray for my recovery. Without those prayers, it is doubtful that we could have endured these last two months as smoothly as we have.

Thanks to everyone for all your kindness. You have shown the true spirit of living in a small community in Alaska. Thank you!

James and Patricia Vinson
