Area chambers set schedules

Cheri Smith with the LeeShore Center will speak at noon Tuesday at the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the Riverside House in Soldotna. For more information, call Michelle at 262-9814. Awards for the Progress Days parade also will be presented.

Business counseling available

Alaska Business Center, Inc., a non-profit corporation recently renewed its fisheries business assistance contract with the state of Alaska's Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Developments division of investments.

The contract enables it to provide free or low cost business counseling and assistance to commercial harvesters and small businesses in the Alaska fishing industry.

Technical assistance available

A Procurement Technical Assistance Center counselor will be in the Kenai and Soldotna area from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 9 a the Kenai Peninsula Small Business Development Center. PTAC offers technical assistance to small business in the area of government contracting. To schedule a one-on-one meeting, call Bunny Kishaba at 714-2331.
