Caregivers to meet

The National Caregiver Support Program will hold a caregiver support meeting from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the Soldotna Senior Citizens Center. Garage sale fundraiser slated

The Nikiski Senior Center will hold a garage sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the center one mile off the Kenai Spur Highway on Island Lake Road. Donations are being accepted.

Sterling planning birthday party for state

Sterling area sSeniors are having a birthday party to celebrate Alaska's 50th year as a state. Sterling residents are invited to come to the center Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. for food, contests, displays, craft projects and entertainment.

Attendees are asked to wear their favorite Alaska T-shirts and hats. This statehood celebration is a gift from the Sterling Senior Center to its community's residents.

Waterfowl education planned

Blood donations sought

The Blood Bank of Alaska and Lions Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula are asking residents to donate blood.

Transportation to be discussed

The Kenaitze Indian Tribe will hold community meetings to provide information and solicit input regarding transit needs for tribal members and customers and clients of tribe's programs and services who reside within the tribe's service delivery area.

Meetings will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Aug. 4 at the tribe's Family House at 120 N. Willow St. in Kenai (for the communities of Kenai, Nikiski, Salamatof, Coho and Kasilof); and from 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 4 in the conference room of Mykel's Restaurant in Soldotna at 35041 Kenai Spur Highway (for the communities of Soldotna, Sterling and Cooper Landing.)
