Nikiski resident Wallace Emil Mollet, 83, died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at home.
Viewing will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at North Kenai Chapel in Nikiski. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the church. Pastor Keith Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in the McGahan Cemetery.
Mr. Mollet was born July 20, 1927, in Mexico, Mo. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines and also the Army Air Force for three years during World War II. He was retired from the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #469 in Phoenix, Ariz. He moved to Nikiski in July 2009. Wallace was a member of the Nazarene Church in Houghton, Mich. He also enjoyed hunting and gardening.
Mr. Mollet was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and son, Jerry Russell Mollet.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Ann Mollet of Nikiski; son, James Wallace Mollet of Nikiski; daughters, Peggy Elaine Marsh of Grants, N.M. and Sally Ann Snyder of Houghton; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
