On Aug. 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. the Kenai Resilience will host a Peak of the Season Fest, a family-friendly potluck exchange of local Alaska foods, recipes and ideas. The event will be held at Jackson Gardens, on John's Road at Mile 103 on the Sterling Highway, eight miles south of the Soldotna "Y." Attendees are asked to bring a food dish that was grown or produced in Alaska, or a favorite dish with supermarket ingredients (if new to the local foods idea) the recipe written on a card; a blanket or lawn chair; and wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing (for the weather).
The Hospice board of directors is organizing it's third annual disc golf tournament At the Disc Golf course located behind Oiler's Field in Kenai to raise funds for Camp-Mend-A-Heart. The event will take place Aug. 7.
Ways to contribute include; sponsor ($500) or co-sponsor ($250) a hole; sponsor a team ($500) or a team player ($125); or make a contribution to hospice.
