Plate, Hayden marry in Nikiski

Cessna R. Plate of Soldotna and John R. Hayden of Kenai were married in an outdoor ceremony Friday, July 20, 2007, in Nikiski.

The bride is the daughter of Ron and Winnie Plate of Soldotna and granddaughter of William and Darla Plate of Wasilla. She is a graduate of Skyview High School. Cessna is a certified nursing assistant and employed as a child caregiver in Denver, Colo. She plans to attend a university in the fall. She wore an antiqued layer dress and carried a bouquet of calla lilies and white orchards for the ceremony.

The groom is the son of Bob and Pam Byrd of California, and grandson of the late Robert L. Mulholland and Eunice Mulholland of Kenai. He is a graduate of Kenai Central High School. John has received three associate degrees from Mount San Jacinto College in California and is working on a bachelor's degree in psychology. He plans to attend the University of California to obtain master's and doctorate degrees in psychology.

Cynthia Butler served as maid of honor and Naomi Parrish, Jennifer Mghee and Erica Demster were the bridesmaids.

Chris Parrish was the best man and Bob Byrd, Daniel Evans and Aaron Galves were the groomsmen.

The couple makes their home in Denver.
