ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A 9-month-old girl died Sunday in a single-car accident near Homer on East End Road, the road that runs parallel to Kachemak Bay east of the city.

Stephanida Erofeeff of Vosnesenka, a community about 22 miles northeast of Homer, died of injuries suffered in a morning rollover, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers received a call on the accident at 7:07 a.m.

Troopers said the driver, Efrem Erofeeff, 25, crossed the oncoming lane at Mile 13 East End Road and began going into the ditch. The 2000 Kia Sportage hit a side road and went airborne.

When it landed, the car traveled another 140 feet, flipping several times.

Erofeeff was thrown from the vehicle.

Ustina Erofeeff, 22, and Ionia Erofeeff, 2, were injured. Dimitry Erofeeff, 5, was ejected and the car came to rest on top of his legs. The injured were transported to a Homer hospital.

Troopers said no child restraints were used in the car and alcohol was involved in the accident.

No charges had been filed as of early Monday morning.
