New pastor to be ordained

All are invited to a special ordination service of Tim H. Tolar at 7 p.m. Sunday at Star of the North Lutheran Church, 216 N. Forest Drive in Kenai. A reception will follow the service.

Tolar is a second career man. Prior to going to seminary, he was a mechanical design engineer with Lockheed Martin for 19 years. He has an associate and a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. Tolar and his wife, Stacey, were born in Texas. Stacey has worked as a legal secretary in the fields of family law, real estate, business, corporate and criminal appeals. The couple likes the outdoors, traveling, visiting museums and attending theater performances.

Vacation Bible school planned

During "Son Games," the vacation Bible school at Sterling Baptist Church planned for Monday through Thursday from 6 to 8:45 p.m., children will discover how to live as members of God's team.

Activities for children from 4 years old through sixth grade will include songs, crafts, games, Bible stories and snacks.

Bible school starts Monday

"The Son Games" vacation Bible school of Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna begins Monday and continues through Aug. 6. Children from 3 years old to sixth grade are invited to attend daily from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information, call Joy Harper at 283-3929 or the church at 262-4757.

Women's prayer group to meet

Family worship offered

Peninsula Grace Brethren Church on Kalifornsky Beach Road offers "The River at Grace" worship experience for the whole family Thursdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

All are welcome to the informal worship meetings.

Clothes2Go open

The Inlet Faith formerly Aurora Heights Assembly of God Clothes2Go is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays to meet people's clothing needs.

Clothes2Go is at the church on the corner of McGahan and Marie avenues, near Mile 27 of the Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski. For more information, call 776-8723.
