Contributions make for sweet success

Thanks to everyone who supported the Kenai Peninsula College's literacy program fundraising efforts at the Kenai River Festival on June 9 and 10.

Through a generous donation from Kaladi Brothers Coffee Co. — and manager Amy — the Family Reading Center sold coffee and Italian sodas to raise money to support local family literacy programs and the "Read to Your Baby" project.

Thanks also to the Watershed Forum for providing booth space, to Arby's for providing ice and to Safeway and Fred Meyer for providing soda, sugar and half and half for the Italian sodas.

And thanks to the Kenai Peninsula Proliteracy America staff and volunteers who helped out.
