Summer reading program a success

Posted: Friday, July 30, 2010

The Soldotna Public Library has completed another successful summer reading program, and would like to thank all the children, parents, volunteers, and businesses who helped to make it so. Thank you to the Alaska SeaLife Center, Trinity Greenhouse, River City Books, the Kenai Peninsula School District Swimming Pools, and the Friends of the Joyce K. Carver Memorial Library for their support. A special thank you to library patron Billi Kaho for her generous donation used to purchase prizes for the program, and thank you to our fantastic volunteers: Lynn Dusek, Sara Hondel, Judy Schmidt, Jeanette Pedginski, Kathy Cox, and Bethany McMilin.

Finally, I'd like to thank our volunteers who organized and ran the annual Soldotna Progress Days Used Book Sale: Pat Burdick, Mary McCown, Elaine Woodburn, M.P. King, Sherill Miller, and Kathy Cox. Thank you also, to our local authors: Wayne Coggens, Carol Ford, Hugh Littrell, Don McKay, Ethel McMilin, Mary Mullen, Stephen Stringham, and Ron Walden who participated in the accompanying author signing event.
