Ninilchik rallies 'For the Health of It'

Posted: Friday, July 30, 2010

We want to thank everyone who helped in making our "For the Health of It!" fundraiser a success.

For our barbecue, Ninilchik commercial fishermen donated salmon and Deep Creek Custom Packing processed it for us. Ninilchik Native Association provided all the produce for our amazing kabobs! Walmart and Safeway helped us out too.

Conoco-Phillips loaned us their tent, set it up and took it down! Our generous community donated so many beautiful items for our silent auction. We had a crew of several of our club members that we could not have done without!

Special acknowledgement goes to Brie Leman for her invaluable behind the scenes work. You made it happen!

Special thanks to Kathryn Kennedy, director of the Senior Center, for all of her time and considerations both personal and professional. It was a pleasure to partner with the Senior Center, and we look forward to more fun together!

Glen and Dianne Thomas graciously offered to help with this fundraiser in so many ways, from providing the grill used, barbeque expertise, the porta-potty, the sawhorses for signs, and so much time. We cannot thank you enough!

Another of our benefactors who did so much to make this happen is John Burns. His experience and guidance was appreciated and his big-hearted contributions were astounding.

We can't forget the entertainment! Many thanks to Butch Leman, Andy Tholberg, Ryan Bear and Brie Leman for sharing their musical talent to enliven the day.

We are reminded of how beautiful it is when we come together as community. With your help we'll have a new treadmill this fall!

The community support was fantastic! To all that aren't listed due to a lack of space, your efforts are greatly appreciated. We cannot thank you enough!
