FAIRBANKS (AP) -- A man from the village of Minto was killed in a single-vehicle rollover accident on the Elliott Highway early Sunday, Alaska State Troopers said.
Troopers say a mini-van carrying 6 people from the village rounded a sharp curve at high speed, left the highway and rolled over twice down an embankment at about 1:30 a.m.
Calvin Shearer, 39, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered severe head injuries. He was transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead, troopers said.
Two other people in the van were hospitalized in stable condition and three others suffered only minor injuries.
