JUNEAU (AP) -- Hospice and Home Care of Juneau was named one of six organizations nationwide to receive an award from the American Hospital Association.
The Circle of Life Award recognized the facility for its bereavement programs, attention to spiritual and religious practices encountered in the Juneau area and for an original theatrical play the group produced.
Its play, ''Unexpected Gifts -- Hospice: A Community Journey,'' was broadcast statewide on KTOO-TV.
Hospice employs 20 part- and full-time staff and have 50 volunteers.
