Anchorage man indicted on charges of bankruptcy fraud

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A federal grand jury has indicted an Anchorage man and charged him with bankruptcy fraud.

Stephen R. Porter is charged with falsifying his petition for Chapter 13 reorganization, which he filed in Federal Bankruptcy Court in Juneau.

He also is charged with concealing assets from Bankruptcy Court.

According to prosecutors, Porter filed a bankruptcy petition while concealing his interest in a 44-foot sailboat worth about $150,000.

The FBI investigated the case. The indictment was returned Monday.
