Fairbanks man charged with robbery, vehicle theft

FAIRBANKS (AP) -- A Fairbanks man was arrested shortly after a clerk at a gas station was robbed Wednesday night.

A clerk at Sourdough Fuel was robbed at 10:45 p.m. by a man reportedly brandishing a 9mm handgun. The man fled in a blue van.

Just 13 minutes later, Fairbanks police spotted a blue van pulling into the parking lot of a Wells Fargo Banks branch.

Charles T. Kemp, 28, was charged with robbery and vehicle theft.
