The National Rifle Association's Women on Target program will sponsor an instructional shooting clinic for women at the Cooper Landing Gun Club on Aug. 15 and 16, and again on Sept. 19 and 20.
The instructional clinic will feature hands-on training in the safe handling of rifles, plus the fundamentals of shooting in a relaxing, fun-filled environment.
The goal of the Women on Target program is to introduce women to the shooting sports while providing them the opportunity to meet other women with similar interests. Women of all ages and experience levels can benefit from the instructional clinics.
The Cooper Landing Gun Club is located at Mile 1.3 of Bean Creek Road. The Friday session starts at 6 p.m. while the Saturday session begins at 9 a.m. Cost of attendance is $35 and includes firearms, ammunition and targets.
All necessary equipment will be provided by the club, though participants are asked to bring eye and ear protection.
