Creationist theologian to speak
John C. Whitcomb, credited with sparking the modern creationist movement in the early 1960s, will speak at Kenai Grace Brethren Church, 406 McCollum Drive in Kenai on Saturday and Sunday.

Bible stories, crafts, games planned

Christian center plans youth activities
Peninsula Christian Center's The Edge Youth Church is planning a free pizza night Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Featured guests will be ETC (Encounter the Cross) from Evangel Temple in Jacksonville, Fla. ETC will present worship music and drama.
Youth pastor Mike Butler invites all teens and young adults to attend. The center will present "Kidzone" Wednesday through Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to noon. Church plans yard sale

Russian-America festival slated
The fourth annual Russian-America Festival is scheduled Aug. 9 and 10 at St. Innocent Orthodox Cathedral on Turpin Street and East 4th Avenue in Anchorage.
Everyone is invited to the festival, which features Russian ethnic and Alaska Native foods, songs and dancing, arts and crafts and a visit by Bishop Nikolai.

Convoy of Hope missionaries to speak
Gary and Cindy Higgins, ordained Assembly of God foreign missionaries, will be the guest speakers at Kenai New Life Assembly of God Church, 209 Princess St., at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 10.
The missionaries work internationally with Convoy of Hope, an organization dedicated to helping countries in which resources are scarce or where natural disasters have created need.
