Seward and Sterling resident Jeffrey Allen McClure died from injuries sustained in a head on collision Monday, July 14, 2008, near Bird Creek on the Seward Highway. He was 42.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, Mile 81.5 of the Sterling Highway in Sterling. Pastor Robert Reasner will officiate.
Mr. McClure was born June 10, 1966, to Willard and Dorothy McClure in Greenville, Ohio. He graduated from Arcanum-Butler High School and attended Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas and received a two-year degree. Mr. McClure was a resident of Sterling, Soldotna and Seward for the last 16 years. He had worked for Laidlaw, as well as, for the Kenai Fjord Tours. Mr. McClure enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling.
Mr. McClure was preceded in death by his father; mother; sisters, Leona Weis (McClure) and Vicky Lynn McClure.
He is survived by his sister, Holly (McClure) Ibarra and her husband, David, of Arcanum, Ohio; nieces, LaAnna (Ibarra) Gillett and her children, Cheyenne and Hunter, of North Star, Ohio, Brandi Ibarra, of Ft. Lee, Va., and Melissa (Weis) and her husband, Dana Lugena, and their children, Logan, Levi, Lugena and Tyler Runner, all of Hannibal, Mo.; nephew, Kyle Ibarra and his children, Marissa and Allyesa, of Greenville, Ohio; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Alaska, Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii, Kentucky, Virginia, Texas and Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the family c/o Holly Ibarra, 609 St. Route 127, Arcanum, OH 45304.
Arrangements were made by the Anchorage Funeral Home.
