Day of Caring project brings summer to Seward's seniors

The Seward Senior Center would like to thank the United Way Days of Caring Volunteers who participated in Senior Yard Care on June 15 here in Seward. Six senior families were the recipents of yard and lawn care on this beautiful Saturday morning. Summer arrived on this day, according to some local seniors I heard from after the Days of Caring. One senior mentioned, "Attention to my lawn made me believe that summer is finally here with the smell of fresh cut grass, weeds removed from my flower garden and trees cut back from my windows." Seward Providence Hospital staff and Seaview Community Services staff gave their Saturday morning to assist and ensure seniors that they too could appreciate summer in their own front yard. Many thanks go out to these folks for bringing sunshine to a senior's life under a cloudy summer here in Seward. Thank you for helping us help each other.
