Junior golf clinic planned

A PGA junior golf clinic will begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Kenai Golf Course. Children ages 8 to 17 are eligible.

Two-time Kenai Chrysler Champion Billy Bomar and course record-holder Rob Nelson will give demonstrations. The cost is $5.

The first 30 paid registrations will receive a T-shirt. To register, visit the Pro Shop desk.

Historical society to meet

The Soldotna Historical Society will hold a board meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the main museum building on Centennial Park Road.

Nikiski volleyball to hold tryouts

Nikiski Middle-Senior High School volleyball tryouts will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 9 and 10 in the school gym.

Players should have a completed sports physical exam prior to tryouts.

Health services collaborative to meet

The Health Services Opportunities Collaborative will meet at 3 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Kenai Public Health building. The collaborative meets monthly to consider ways to improve access to health care for the uninsured and underinsured. Its goal is to achieve better communication and health-care services for those in need. All interested agencies and the public are invited to attend.
