A harness and safety cable saved a ConocoPhillips employee from injury Wednesday morning, after the scaffolding he was working on collapsed.
When Nikiski firefighters responded, a ConocoPhillips rescue plan was in effect.
"We went out there and went over the side of the dock and lowered him down to a boat in the water," said Battalion Chief Trent Burnett. "I sent one of my guys in a harness and safety equipment."
Burnett said the man was taken to Central Peninsula Hospital to check for injuries, but he wasn't complaining of anything.
"He was doing real good," he said.
ConocoPhillips refused to comment.
